Art Deco Style Movie Theatre, Church Hill Richmond

All that's left here is the brick facade and the rusted marque sign. Judging from satellite shots of the street, the roof either fell in or burned off. So this is a brick shell. North 25th Street, Richmond VA 23223

St John's Church in Richmond VA built 1741

Image
Pix from visiting the St Johns Episcopal church today on "Church Hill" in downtown Richmond, VA. This is where Patrick Henry gave the "Give me liberty or give me death" speech. Edgar Allan Poe's mother is also buried on the ground, along with a number of other American history notables.

Fort Smith Arkansas airport

Image
Probably the best looking airport I've ever been in (from my limited experience)- - Ft. Smith Arkansas' little airport is like a combination museum (filled with aviation mementos, photos and plane models), someone's living room (arm chairs and couches, tables, lamps, richly-colored painted walls and carpets) and also a functioning airport facility. It seems completely at adds with the anti-septic cafeteria style of modern airports built to withstand stampedes of passengers all day long. This is a photo of the men's room:
